Willow Current Aquatics was built from a place of love.

The name itself comes from my younger sister, Willow, whose kindness, curiosity, and spirit inspired the name behind this brand. What began as a personal passion has grown into a mission that I hope will become something much bigger than myself.

I started Willow Current Aquatics on my own—well, mostly on my own. My tank of Sterbai Corydoras that live beside my bed have been there from the beginning, watching this idea grow from scribbles on paper into something I can finally share with others.

I've always been fascinated by freshwater ecosystems and the incredible diversity of life they support. While Australia is rightly celebrated for its coral reefs and marine environments, that was never the Australia I grew up with.

I was born in Kalgoorlie, where the dirt is red, the landscape is rugged, and the Great Barrier Reef exists thousands of kilometres away. My connection to nature was shaped by inland Australia and the often-overlooked freshwater habitats that flow through our rivers, creeks, billabongs, and wetlands. These environments are every bit as remarkable as the marine ecosystems that capture the world's attention, yet many remain underrepresented within the aquarium hobby.

Through Willow Current Aquatics, I want to help change that.

My goal is not only to provide quality aquarium products and carefully curated aquatic ecosystems, but also to inspire a greater appreciation for Australia's unique freshwater environments and the species that call them home. I want to help educate fishkeepers, encourage responsible fishkeeping practices, and share the beauty of these ecosystems with as many people as possible.

I also believe the aquarium hobby should be more welcoming and accessible. Too many people enter the hobby full of excitement, only to become overwhelmed by conflicting advice, poor information, or inadequate support. Willow Current Aquatics exists to help people build confidence, create thriving aquariums, and enjoy the rewarding experience that fishkeeping can be when given the right tools and guidance from the beginning.

At its core, this business is about sharing a passion for aquatic life, creating memorable experiences, and helping others discover the wonder of keeping a living ecosystem in their own home.
